Kochi is the nearest airport just 10kms away. Angamaly 10 kms away, or Alwaye 22 kms away, are the nearest railway stations. Buses and taxis are available from Angamaly to Kaladi.
Kalady is a very small village and is the birth place of Sri Adi Shankaracharya, situated on the banks of river Periyar or Poorna.
2. Puri (Orissa) -- East
3. Dwaraka (Gujarat) -- West
4. Kedarnath (Uttaranchal) -- North.
Just adjacent to the temple there is a Veda Pathasala where a lot of young prospective Shankara's are getting trained in Vedas and Upanishads. We took prashad (lunch) in the ashram and visited the other temples surrounding the main temple.
Do visit Kalady for its serenity, beauty and most importantly for the devine blessings of SHARADA.

Gopuram of SHARADA.
Temple Timings:
We entered the temple in the afternoon and had to rush to get the darshan fearing closure, but luckily we had the darshan of Sri Sharada, Lord Shiva and small idol of Sri Adi Shankara. Sri Adi Shankara (788 - 820 A.D) established 4 mathas in 4 directions of the country. He is also known as Bhagavatpada Acharya (the teacher at the feet of Lord)

Behind the temple you can see the Poorna river flow, as if it is touching the holy feet of Srarada.
